I have installed the Empiric Document Scanner, but the scanner does not open when I select the scanner icon on the Radiology Order, Registration page, or Insurance page.  What should I do now?

Diagnostic Steps:

• Confirm program has been loaded onto the individual PC. Look for: C:/Program Files\Empiric Systems\Scannerexe.

• Confirm scanner has been installed on computer and all cords are plugged in.

Confirm the following settings:

• Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools, Internet Options. Select Settings and select “check for newer version of stored pages”: every visit to the page.

• Select Security and verify that the RIS address is a trusted site. If it is not, add it at this time.  Next, select the Custom button. Be sure all items with Active X are enabled.
